“Bedroom in winter”
3D- Modélisation - 2023/2024
This project was an assignment in the 3D course. We had to reproduce a 2D interior design in 3D while adhering to the technical and graphic constraints of the project:
- Reproduce a movie scene;
- Take a scene with two vanishing points;
- Render cleanly with lighting.
The process is similar to “Small Decorated House.”
Image source - The Holiday - 2006
1 - Creation - Orientation
First, I had to find the orientation of the scene so I could create in the same direction with the same proportions. To do this, I put the base image in fSpy and retrieved the coordinates to put them back in Maya.
2 - Creation - Walls/Ceiling
I then created the walls to have the basic structure. After that, I made the ceiling structure with all the wood so I could move on to the furniture next.
3 - Création - Furnitures
Next, I created the furniture from largest to smallest, trying to be as accurate as possible with the photo. So, I first made the bed to get an idea of the space, then I moved on to the furniture on the side.
Here are some of the pieces:
4 - Création - Decoration
After that, I created the small decorations: a frame, a lamp, a plant, curtains, etc.
Here are some details:
5 - Creation - Colours
Finally, I added all the colors and structures to make the scene as realistic as possible and to respect the source image as much as possible.
